Do I Need Foundation Wall Repair?

Before we recommend any course of action, we need to determine if in fact you have a foundation problem, or if the cracks you’re seeing are simply the result of water intrusion. If you have poured walls in your basement, cracks will occur as a result of hydrostatic pressure. However, it may not mean that the structural integrity of your home has been compromised. If waterproofing is what’s needed - good news! We can fix that easily with our polyurethane crack injection or other services.

If You Do . . .

If your foundation has experienced problematic movement, you’ve taken the most important step already by visiting StayDry. Our people have worked in the industry for more than 100 years in total, and they’re committed to bringing the best and most reliable ideas to the table.

Whether you need to repair a foundation or basement wall, we have a solution that best matches your problem:

Water Damaged Basement Walls

Water doesn’t mix with drywall or plaster. If it seeps into your walls, it will promote the growth of mold, cause framing wood to swell and split and weaken the structural integrity of your home. Even if you only see minor spots, bubbling, or peeling, take action immediately to nip the problem in the bud.

Before repairing any drywall or plaster within your home, the source of the leak needs to be located and repaired to avoid further damage. You should also allow enough time for the walls to dry out before repair so moisture is not trapped inside. However, there are a variety of ways you can avoid water damage altogether.

Interior French Drains

Used for nearly 150 years, French drain systems redirect accumulating water out and away from your home. These are mainly used to prevent groundwater from entering the foundation, which can result in the weakened structure of your home.

Exterior Waterproofing Systems

Waterproofing your home from the outside is possibly the best way to avoid water damage. Exterior waterproofing utilizes an impermeable vapor barrier to prevent water from entering, so no problems can arise within your home.

Crack Injection Repair

When concrete foundations crack, crack injections are necessary to effectively seal the cracks and prevent moisture from making its way inside. Using a high-pressure injection system, StayDry guarantees properly sealed cracks.

Basement Wall Cracks

A new crack in the wall of your basement isn’t just unsightly. It may also lead to long term flooding and leaking basement issues, or it may be causing a slow and less noticeable leak of water or dangerous radon gas penetrating your foundation walls.

For homes or businesses in which this has happened, StayDry recommends crack injection. We use a high-pressure injection tool so that the epoxy expands all the way through the crack, from the exterior to the interior.

Like our French drains, our crack injection services come with a lifetime warranty.

Minor Bowing or Bulging

Bulging or bowing foundation walls happen when pressure is placed on your foundation by freezing or evaporating moisture in soft and clay soils around your home. Our experienced team can determine the cause of your bowed wall(s) and make the best recommendations for repair based on the severity of the issue.

Basement walls with minor bowing can be repaired by reinforcing or stabilizing the existing wall.

Wall Straightening (Shear Reinforcement)

This is a smart, affordable basement foundation wall repair solution that can return a wall back to its original plumb state. After securely placing thick wood posts and blocks, our professionals drill holes into the blocks and reinforce them with 16-inch steel rebar. Finally, the cores are filled with concrete to the height of the drilled holes, and the holes are filled with cement. This comprehensive reinforcement is ideal for foundation walls with only a slight curvature.

Fortress Stabilization Carbon Fiber/Kevlar Straps

This advanced technology stops the wall from shifting without the need for outside excavation. The high-strength materials present minimal obtrusion or obstruction.

Moderate to Severe Bowing or Bulging

Moderate to severe bowed walls can compromise the structural integrity of the home and should be addressed as quickly as possible. This type of basement wall will need to be heavily reinforced or, in some cases, rebuilt completely.

StayWall® Steel Brace Reinforcement

With the StayWall repair method, steel I-beams are attached to the floor joists of the home and then either bolted to or set beneath the concrete floor of the foundation. While they do create some obtrusion in the basement, they can be the perfect solution for more serious problems.

Complete or Partial Block Wall Rebuilds

The recommended method of foundation repair for walls that are too far gone to correct with the aforementioned methods. This provides the ultimate peace of mind and a brand-new look for your basement.
